Jay has been a leader in the local commercial furniture industry for over 30 years as the Owner and Principal of Austin Business Furniture since its inception in 1985. Jay oversees all the team members and supports them in fulfilling their individual responsibilities. He reviews all project responses and service commitments, and ensures they are meeting clients’ expectations. Jay’s openness to collaboration and new ideas is what makes his employees and manufacturing partners happy to continue doing business with him.
Austin Business Furniture’s long-standing partnership with HNI, an industry leader, has allowed the business to continue to grow and help further develop relationships in the local business community. His affiliation with KLRU & Austin City Limits began over 20 years ago and is still actively supporting this wonderful cause associated with Austin music and heritage.
Bryan has over 25 years in the commercial furniture industry, during which he has served in many different roles that have helped make his experience well rounded. Working closely with Designers and Facilities Managers, he assists his clients with product specification, pricing, and acts as a liaison for the rest of the ABF team. Bryan is a dedicated manager, assisting clients such as McLane Industries, Texas State University and CDR, a Division of Wilsonart. He is dedicated to maintaining customer satisfaction, working directly with our project coordinator to assure a seamless and successful project completion.
Christy has over 22 years in the commercial furniture industry, during which she has served in many different roles that have helped make her experience well- rounded. Working closely with Designers and Facilities Managers, she assists her clients with product specification, pricing, and acts as a liaison for the rest of the ABF team. Christy is a dedicated Project Manager assisting clients such as Jones Energy, Freightwatch International, First Texas Honda and Aircheck Labs. She is dedicated to maintaining customer satisfaction, working directly with our project coordinator to assure a seamless and successful project completion.
Laura graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1990, and has over 20 years of experience in the office furniture industry. 14 of those years have been with Austin Business Furniture, which affirms her dedication not only to the industry, but to her long-standing clientele. She has become ABF’s top provider to local and state government entities and school districts, and has found that this type of customer is her specialty. Laura manages Round Rock ISD, Austin ISD, Travis County Contract for Countywide Furniture, and various departments in Williamson County.
Scott has been in the Contract Office Furniture Industry since 1993. He has worked on many projects from small to large. He credits most of his business acumen to his growing up in a small town working with his father at the corner drug store. It was here he learned his customer service skills by helping friends and neighbors. This same small town attitude combined with a vast knowledge and experience in the furniture industry has led to successful projects with companies large and small.
Manager of Operations
Adrian began his career with Austin Business Furniture 15 years ago as an installer. He went on to work as a Lead Installer until his promotion to Manager of Operations. His in-depth understanding of the installation process allows him to successfully plan the execution of a project. Adrian is responsible for collaborating with the Project Manager to develop a detailed installation plan for each project. He also plays a key role in the communication with our manufacturers and logistical coordination. His positive demeanor and even-keeled temperament provide a basis for good communication with contractors, subcontracts, and clients.
Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998. Since then, she has only focused on the Austin commercial office furniture industry, affording her a well-developed understanding of the dynamic nature of commercial office environments. Having successfully collaborated on such large local projects as Samsung, IBM Conference Center, Time Warner Cable, One West Bank, and Active Power, she offers the ABF team timely project management, knowledgeable input, and experienced partnership.
Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2013. Prior to her move to Austin Business Furniture, Karen lived and worked in Houston where she gained 3 years experience in the healthcare and corporate industry. Karen is skilled in space planning, design presentation, and finish and furniture selections. Karen’s interest in technology has also given her application skills in programs like CAD, CAP, ICE, Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite. This skill set allows for detailed drawings and a quick turn- around time on projects. Her natural ability to work in a group environment has allowed for a quick acclamation & short learning curve to become a viable member of the ABF project team.
Client Support Manager
Jessica has been in the Contract Office Furniture Industry since 2007, working on both the dealership and service side of the business. Her responsibilities at ABF cover a broad spectrum of responsibilities. However, her main focus is providing sales assistance and superior customer service to new and current clients ranging from initial inquiries to post installation issues or concerns. Having worked with people from all walks of life, she has established strong interpersonal skills and flourishes in both independent and collaborative work environments. Jessica’s positive and ‘can do’ attitude allows her to successfully problem solve to get the job done.
